LET’S START WITH THE BASICS – ORGANISING YOUR WARDROBE!

So gang, how are we feeling about spending more time at home?

Considering we’ve all had to go ‘back to basics‘ with our lifestyle, it felt only right that I did exactly that with my fashion blog.

The Perfect Time For A Wardrobe Makeover Sydney?

I’m big on opportunity so I’d like to lend a hand (a sanitized one that is) to help you use this time positively to re-connect with your wardrobes Sydney!! Or where ever you are in the world at the mo!

What’s the hashtag… #wereallinthistogether !?!

FASHION TIPS : YOU CAN OWN STUNNING CLOTHES, BUT IF YOU DON’T STORE THEM CORRECTLY, YOU SIMPLY WON’T ENJOY THEM

What Drives Me As A Wardrobe Stylist

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a teacher, a stay at home mum or a combo of the two (like most of us are right now #wfh), everyone wants stress free mornings, regardless of if you’re leaving the house or not, don’t they?

” AS A WARDROBE STYLIST, ONE OF MY DRIVING PRINCIPLES IS TO GET YOU OUT THE DOOR QUICKER, EVERY MORNING !! “

And Here’s How…

Wardrobe Makeover Service Check List

I thought it’s easier to listen rather than read how best to conduct a wardrobe makeover service, so I created a couple of style videos for you as a check list, so when you have the head space, click play on part 1* and let’s start!

*please excuse the multi-tasking-mum-cum-maths-teacher interruptions

*Display* Your Belongings

There’s a reason fashion boutiques ‘display’ their clothes styles, because you can simply slip on anything and own it! Your wardrobe needs to be the same.

FASHION TIPS : IF YOU CAN’T SEE IT, YOU WON’T WEAR IT!

Think about your belongings selling themselves to you, longing to be worn.

Closet Organizer

I advise all my personal styling clients that, apart from your active-wear, jeans and knitwear, organize ALL your clothes in the hanging part of your wardrobe by product type, for example sleeveless tops together, pencil skirts together.

This way you can quickly identify where you have duplicates – or holes in your wardrobe – and these holes make getting dressed even more challenging!

If you don’t have the essential building blocks of your closet, outfitting WILL be challenging

How To Organise your Clothes

  • Hang in order of weight starting with lightest weight at one end, through to heaviest, as we have to dress based on the temperature/conditions of our day ahead
  • Ideally tops hanging on the top rail
  • Bottoms on the bottom rail

Some people organise their clothes by colour but that’s an instant thing we can see, therefore be practical first – dress for the weather – then emotional – choose the colour you fancy

FASHION TIPS : hang suit jackets separate to the skirt or pant in your ‘jacket section’ so you consider wearing it with a different bottom of body, or even over a dress?

Space Saving Style Advice

Most clients that don’t wear accessories are those who have them shoved in a draw and can’t see them. Sound familiar?

FASHION TIPS : IF YOU’RE SHORT ON SPACE, TRY ROTATING YOUR ACCESSORY FOCUS IE. DISPLAY SCARVES NOW WHILST IT’S GETTING COLDER SO THEY KEEP YOU WARM, THEN SWAP FOR NECKLACES IN THE SUMMER?
